Chronicle of KPMGA

by D. B Matzin

Started its inauguration in early 2006 under the unification of jovial golf nuts who labeled it then as FOM Club, bestowed in honour of senior founding fellow old men (FOM) who were often targets of provocative remarks by their fellow young men (FYM). Ridiculed by 'slanders and insults’ in a number of friendly grueling pastime undermining their capabilities, FOM took the juvenile fellow mates to punishing defeat . Concluded on par if not better hat-trick of victories proved that the old horse still yearns to run....... As more and more FYM joined the club that it began to change its identity. Hence, the nuts called it KPMGA to reflect the atmosphere and eccentricity of kampung way of sport. This was how the 'association' grew from a tiny seed to a mighty nut.

If you think, you’re Golf Nut – this will be a venue for you to sprout!!!!

Farewell for Dato' Aziz cum Raya Special Golf

It was one of the memorable moments to bid farewell to Dato' Aziz who brought along fine weather all the way from Kuching.

Odd number had forced the format of play from scramble to stroke play. However, the game ended successfully and the members were feted to a delightful dinner at Hotel Grand Palace. Finished with par golf of 72 net against his compatriots, Hj. Ibrahim Hj. Dawok, won the section A championship. Followed by Then V.T who clinched a 2nd position carded 74 net. Travelling all the way from Brunei betting for his luck, Roland Lee, won 3rd place scored a net of 75 proved worth the trouble.

Indulged by good weather, couples of Buayas (alligators) were happily lurking around the fairways and greens finally found their victims. For the first time joining KPMGA, Kevin Reginald, legally speaking showed a stunning start by carding 73 net to be crowned as a champion of section B. Meanwhile Wan Mohd. Azilah with his ever sharpened teeth fought hard against his opponent K.J. Choi, to win on OCB both of whom finished with 78 above par. Congratulation folks..!!!
